NSA 101 is a trusted notary education provider in Olympia, Washington. Learn in a friendly, supportive, risk-free environment to help you launch your notary career with confidence. Practice, roleplay, and ask your notary questions. Practical hands-on notary training to supplement your reading. Learn your role as a notary public, what is expected, and how to perform basic notarizations. Carmen Lane is your NSA 101 workshop leader. Currently, Washington State law does not require any notary training but it urges new notaries to seek it anyway.

INTRO NOTARY PUBLIC training is for beginners. This helps brand new notaries understand their duties as an independent notary public in Washington and avoid common mistakes. Intro Notary Public training offers hands-on practice:

Identifying your signer,
Confirming your signer's competence, willingness, & understanding,
Swearing/affirming your signer,
Making notary journal entries, and
Completing seven notarial certificates

INTRO SIGNING AGENT LOAN DOCUMENTS training is more advanced. This is intended for experienced Washington notaries who want to know what it is like to work as an independent notary signing agent performing loan signings. This training helps brand new signing agents understand their limited but critical role and provides hands-on practice. Learn how to prepare for a loan signing appointment and how to present loan documents to the borrowers. Use a complete sample refinance loan package to practice, roleplay, and ask your signing agent questions. Learn what to say, what to do when you are hired to conduct a loan signing. My training approach helps eliminate much of the fear and anxiety for brand new signing agents. It also helps "self-taught" signing agents who are struggling or making too many errors in their loan signings.

Live, in-person training is best if you are new or if you struggle with limits of online training, but we can also do training via Zoom.

And for you staunch Do-It-Yourselfers and independent learners out there who want to practice with a sample loan package but do not want to receive live loan documents training with me, I offer standalone DIGITAL DOWNLOAD training tools.

As a commissioned notary public, you alone are responsible for knowing your notary duties and for following and staying current on our state notary laws/rules and industry best practices. Whether or not you decide to take my intro notary or intro signing agent loan documents training, it is important you get your training from somewhere and to read, study, and practice before jumping into the notary business in Washington.
